Christ Follower

Really cool people are a part of Cedar Creek, but there is no one who is perfect.  As a matter of fact, we all have something in common.  We have sinned.  We've done things we are ashamed of and we've had things done to us that were wrong.  The Bible teaches that every person will have to account for their sins and that ultimately everyone must die and spend eternity apart from a loving God because of sin.  "And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment..."  (Hebrews 9:27 NAS)

The people at Cedar Creek are Christ-followers because He is the only one who can save us on that day of judgment.  He is the only way for people to have peace with the creator.  He is the only one who can make a place for us after this life.  So, He is the giver of life.  "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father but through Me.'"  (John 14:6 NAS)

All through the Bible we find that people couldn't get life right.  So God, in His love for us, sent part of Himself, in the form of the Son of God.  Jesus took the sins of the world upon Himself and was the ultimate sacrifice for all the sins of the world.  "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (2 Corinthians 5:21 NAS)  "...Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and He was buried, and He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures."  (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

"...If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."  (Romans 10:9 NAS)  If you have believed this word for the first time, you will probably want to put your belief in a prayer like so many Christ-followers.  It isn't a formula; it is simply putting into words what Christ has done for you.  You can pray this right now:

God, I am a sinner and I ask that you forgive me of my sins.  I believe, Jesus, that You are the Son of God, that you died for my sins.  I believe that you rose from the dead.  I trust You and ask you to save my soul.  Amen.

If you prayed that prayer, here is what you will want to do.  If you are in driving distance of Cedar Creek, come and get connected with people who can help you learn more about God's Word.  If you live too far to drive, find a church close by where you can get involved.  Call us or write to us and we will help you find a Christ-following Community.  I believe God will use you in a great way to help other people know Christ as their Savior as well.
